ND & MSOM

Dr. Urban earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) degree from the National University of Natural Medicine  (www.nunm.edu), the oldest fully accredited naturopathic medical school in North America.  This is a four-year graduate level degree with a rigorous scientific medical school curriculum used as the foundation for the education of naturopathic medicine.  In addition to the rigorous standard medical school curriculum, this program also requires the completion of four years of training in clinical nutrition, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, physical manipulation, psychology, and counseling. Naturopathic doctors must pass rigorous, professional national board examinations to obtain a license to practice medicine.  Dr. Urban holds a Wisconsin state Naturopathic Doctor license.

Dr. Urban also earned a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the National College of Natural Medicine.  This program of Classical Chinese Medicine emphasizes a holistic spirit and philosophy through the use of acupuncture, Chinese herbals, and Qi Gong.  Classical Chinese Medicine is especially suited to provide insight to treat difficult and chronic disease.  Dr. Urban is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and also practices Qi Gong forms from the Jin Jian Gong and Mount Emei Zhen Gong lineages, China.

Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Conservation and Soil Science from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls USA.
